Getting Started

The Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry has several resources including a guide for getting started. 

The University Libraries provide several research guides and offer research coaching.

Feel free to reach out to SSI Assistant Director Ryan Ruddy or book an office hours appointment to discuss your sports related research. 

 

Learning Data Analysis Software

The Sports Analytics Association at Ohio State hosts workshops throughout the year.

Data Camp offers courses in R, Python, SQL, and more. A subscription is costly, but the Sports Analytics Association at Ohio State has memberships available to members of the student org.

Posit (formerly RStudio) provides some free educational material for learning R. 

Coursera provides several free courses including this course in R.

Harvard offers several free online courses including this course in R. 

Udacity offers free courses in R, Python, SQL, etc.

Udemy offers free courses in several languages including R, Python, excel, etc.
