Our 2020 interns
She may not be an athlete herself, but third-year journalism major Darby Clark grew up around sports\. Her dad was a hometown basketball star, her mom swam at Purdue and her sister played college soccer.
Although she plans to eventually become a full-time musician, Darby has always been deeply curious about the world of athletes, and especially how their craft intersects the other facets of their lives and affects them as players and as people.
Thus, she is incredibly excited to be a part of the Sports and Society Initiative this year as a communications intern working to write stories, help manage SSI’s social media and strive to continue to grow the Initiative’s reach.
When she’s not trying to scramble together an interview, Darby can be found watching period pieces, learning the drum parts to some Twenty One Pilots song, discussing the Enneagram, or buying yet another pint of salted caramel gelato.
