The Sports and Society Initiative has an active and extensive internship program to help students get real-world experience working in and around sports. Dutioes include organization, event planning, interviewing, social media, writing, editing, photography, videography and podcasting. Savannah Deuer

Savannah Deuer

Savannah Deuer is a third-year studying sport industry with minors in history of art and communication. 

She currently runs the Twitter account for the Sport and Society Initiative, and writes spotlight articles, as well as helps out with the SSI podcast.
 
Savannah joined the SSI staff in January of 2020, and has previously held internships with the Columbus Clippers and the Greene Speed Academy, in both broadcasting and communications. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Savannah enjoys baseball, cooking, and working with the Scarlet and Gray Radio Network in her free time.

Matt Goldman

Matt Goldman

Matt Goldman is a second-year student majoring in Public Affairs Journalism. He is a native of Westfield, N.J., and was his high school's broadcaster for three years, and is continuing his broadcasting with Scarlet and Gray Sports Radio Network at Ohio State.

Matt currently hosts the SSI podcast “The Intersection” in his first year with the club as he looks to expand upon his range in broadcast journalism.

In his free time, Matt enjoys hanging with friends, supporting the Buckeyes, and watching the NFL.

Cameron Schlechty

Cameron Schlechty

Cameron Schlechty is a fourth-year sport industry major with a minor in Communication. Schlechty joined the Ohio State Athletic Communications staff as a student assistant in July of 2018. 

Cameron is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. Prior to Ohio State, she interned with the Carolina Panthers in the guest relations department.
 
Since enrolling at Ohio State, Cameron has volunteered with the Big Ten Communications staff at the 2018 football championship games.  attended the NFL Public Relations seminar for college students at the NFL Combine, gained the position as a social media intern for the Naismith Awards, and most recently earned a role as a social media brand management intern for Envision Creative Agency.
 
Upon graduation, Cameron looks to work in sport social media and brand management.
