The Sports and Society Initiative has an active and extensive internship program to help students get real-world experience working in and around sports. Podcast hosts, The Intersection: Sam Cipriani, Cameron Moone, Eric Vah

Sam Cipriani is a fourth-year student studying journalism and sports industry from Columbus. Aside from his position at SSI as a co-host of “The Intersection” podcast, he also works as the assistant sports editor for the Ohio State media, The Lantern, and as a freelancer for the Clintonville/Worthington Spotlight. After college, he hopes to find a position as a sports writer for an NBA team. | Cameron Moone is a fourth year in journalism with a minor in media production and analysis. He is an intern with “The Intersection” podcast and is in his second semester producing the show. He also is a play-by-play broadcaster with Scarlet and Gray Sports Radio and enjoys reading Wikipedia pages about anything and everything. | Eric Vah is a senior journalism major and media production and analysis minor from Hilliard, Ohio and is in his first semester with the Sports and Society Initiative as co-host of ‘The Intersection’. Eric is also involved with Scarlet and Gray Sports Radio and Big Ten Plus as a play-by-play/color commentator. Outside of class, Eric enjoys playing basketball and football, hanging out with friends and traveling to national parks. |

Olivia Riley is a fourth-year journalism student from Frankfort, Ohio. Apart from her editorial intern position with SSI, she has roles within Ohio State Athletics, Ohio State Alumni Magazine and Associated Press Sports Editors. After graduation, she hopes to work in the NFL for a team’s communications department, and enjoys writing, fitness and all things Ohio State. | Garrison is in his fourth-year at Ohio State University. He is a journalism major and is getting minors in business and history. After college he hopes to be a beat writer for a professional sports team. Garrison also works as a writing intern for the Columbus Blue Jackets and is a server at La Chatelaine in Worthington. He enjoys watching sports, being around friends and listening to music. |
Events: Naveen Elliott
Naveen is president of the Sports Analytics Association. He is studying data analytics with a minor in Spanish and aspires to work in the sports analytics industry out of college. Naveen also works for the Boston Bolts, an MLS Next Academy with over 3,000 athletes, as the head of analysis. He enjoys watching and playing sports with friends and wants to travel the world through his passion for sports
Data Analytics : Matt Kendig
Matt is a third-year Data Analytics major from Cleveland, Ohio. He plans to pursue a career in sports analytics and his favorite sport is soccer. At Ohio State, he is involved in the Sports Analytics Association and the Scarlet and Gray Sports Radio.
