Meet our Interns

The Sports and Society Initiative has an active and extensive internship program to help students get real-world experience working in and around sports. Duties include organization, event planning, interviewing, social media, writing, editing, photography, videography and podcasting. Cameron Moone: Podcast host, The Intersection

Cameron is a third-year journalism major, minoring in media production and analysis and is from Bucyrus, Ohio. After college, he would like to become a sports journalist, either as an on-air talent or working in a newsroom as a writer. Cameron enjoys spending time with his friends, reading about random athletes and calling athletic events with Scarlet and Gray Sports Radio.


Matt Kendig: Data Analytics

Matt is a third-year Data Analytics major from Cleveland, Ohio. He plans to pursue a career in sports analytics and his favorite sport is soccer. At Ohio State, he is involved in the Sports Analytics Association and the Scarlet and Gray Sports Radio.

Nigel Becker: Social Media

Nigel Becker is a senior with majors in strategic communication, political science and history. Apart from SSI, he holds leadership roles in OSU’s Public Relations Student Society of America, Law & Society Scholars and American Marketing Association. After graduation, he hopes to work as a writer in advertising or public relations.
