SSI Undergraduate Student Research Fair
The Sports and Society Initiative hosts an annual undergraduate research fair. Both in-person and virtual presentations are available. The tentative dates for this year are Apr. 5-6, 2024.
The Ohio State University Sports Analytics Conference
The Sports Analytics Association at The Ohio State University is hosting a Sports Analytics Conference. The tentative dates for this year are Apr. 5-6, 2024. This conference will take place on zoom and in-person. It will be a great opportunity to meet and present findings to industry professionals.
The MIT Sloan Sports Conference is one of the biggest sports analytics conferences in the country. This year it will take place in the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center on March 1-2, 2024. Speakers will be announced later this year.
Uconn Sports Analytics Symposium
The University of Conneticut is hosting a sports analytics symposium that includes both a data challenge and student submitted presentations. It will be April 12-13, 2024. It is a great opportunity to present individual research, or get started with a predetermined dataset.
Carnegie Mellon has hosted a Sports Analytics Conference each of the past 6 years, and will be hosting another one in 2023. The dates for this year’s conference are Nov. 10-11, 2023.
New England Symposium on Statistics in Sports
Harvard is hosting a Symposium on Statistics in Sports. The 2023 symposium will take place on Sep. 23, 2023. At this symposium statisticians and analysts will discuss problems of interests regarding sports analytics.
Great Lakes Data and Analytics
The Great Lakes Data and Analytics Summit includes keynotes from industry experts, case study sessions, and networking opportunities. It will help students learn practical business applications to data and analytics strategies.This year’s conference will take place at the Troy Marriot on April 18, 2024.
Midwest Sports Analytics Meeting
The MSAM aims to support sports analytics research from faculty to undergraduate level. It is a great chance for students to present research to peers and professionals. Any presenters get their registration fees waived for the event. The conference will be virtual this year on Nov. 18, 2023.
SABR (Society for American Baseball Research) hosts an annual conference for like-minded thinkers to get together, discuss, and analyze the game of baseball. The conference takes place in Arizona and usually includes speakers and presentations on baseball analytics, as well as workshops.
The Denman forum allows graduating student researchers to present their research to a broader community. Students are judged based on their ability to communicate their research process and results effectively in their written poster and oral presentation. This year the forum will take place March 5, 2024, at the TDAI Ideation Zone in Pomerene Hall.
Ohio State is hosting a spring undergraduate research festival on Apr. 4, 2024, at the TDAI Ideation Zone in Pomerene Hall. This is an opportunity for students of all majors to communicate their research in new ways. It is open to all undergraduate students and is a great opportunity to present your research.
Chicago Area Undergraduate Research Symposium
The Chicago Area Undergraduate Research Symposium has been around since 2005. It is one of the largest annual undergraduate research conferences in the country. This is an opportunity to network with industry professionals, as well as graduate and professional schools. It will take place in Spring 2024, with a date TBD.
The Ohio State University hosts a Young Mathematicians Conference annually in the fall. It includes both student presentations and plenary speakers. The YMC is a great chance to hear from innovative voices in the mathematics industry and present your own research as well.
Council on Undergraduate Research
The council on undergraduate research is hosting a national conference for students to present their research. This is one of the largest undergraduate conferences of this kind, it consists of around 4,000 undergraduate students. The goal of this conference is to promote research, scholarship, and creativity. The 2024 conference will be at Cal State University - Long Beach.
Gartner data analytics conferences hopes to teach people how analytics has impacted decision making. This year’s conference will take place in Orlando, FL from March 11-13, 2024.

StatsBomb is one of the biggest sports data companies in the world. They run an annual conference that centers around discussions and insights on sports data and the possibilities for it. This year’s conference is at Wembley Stadium on Oct. 10.
National Collegiate Research Conference
The NCRC is hosted annually by Harvard, where students from all around the country come to share their research in a variety of subjects, mainly through poster projects. It typically takes place in January and the 2024 conference date is TBD.
The Journal of Sports Analytics gives students an opportunity to submit their research for review and potential publication. Its advisory board includes many big names in analytics like Andrew Berry of the Cleveland Browns and Daryl Morey of the Philadelphia 76ers.
