The College of Social Work’s Dawn Anderson-Butcher, an SSI affiliate, was selected as a Fellow of the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare.

She is the college's first faculty member to be inducted into this honorific society of 140 fellows including prominent scholars, top researchers and distinguished practitioners dedicated to achieving excellence in the field of social work and social welfare through high-impact work.

This coveted achievement acknowledges Anderson-Butcher’s considerable contributions to the profession as a scholar. She serves as a professor and executive director for teaching/learning and research for the college's LiFEsports initiative.
