ESPN's Doria Provides SSI Gift

Vince Doria, former vice president and director of news at ESPN, has generously gifted the Sports and Society Initiative with financial support for our thought-provoking panel discussions.
Doria, a Youngstown, Ohio native and Ohio State University journalism graduate, has made a $5,000 gift every year for five years.
While at ESPN he unified the company’s cross-platform newsgathering efforts; and oversaw content on SportsCenter, Outside the Lines and E:60. Before ESPN, Doria worked for The National Sports Daily, the Boston Globe, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Columbus (Ohio) Citizen-Journal, and the Ashtabula (Ohio) Star-Beacon.
Doria won 29 Emmys over the course of his career and retired in 2015.
