The Sports and Society Initiative is proud to announce that board member Vince Doria will be receiving the College of Arts & Sciences Distinguished Achievement Award at the ASC Honoring Excellence event, April 12, in recognition of his distinguished career.

Doria is the former vice president and director of news at ESPN, where he was responsible for unifying the company’s cross-platform newsgathering efforts. He oversaw content on SportsCenter, Outside the Lines, and E:60, as well as the company’s long-form journalism.

Before ESPN, he worked for The National Sports Daily, the Boston Globe, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Columbus (Ohio) Citizen-Journal, and the Ashtabula (Ohio) Star-Beacon. Doria won 29 Emmys over the course of his career and retired in 2015.
