SSI board member John Davidson, Ohio State's faculty-athletics representative, was recently part of an article in the New York Times looking at whether sports should now be considered a major in light of NIL's influence.

Davidson, who is a professor in Germanic language and film studies, expressed concerns with the new funding models for college sports and how they would impact offering sports majors.
