Add to Calendar 2020-04-30 15:30:00 2020-04-30 17:00:00 SSI double header Huddle talks Naismith Awards, Philadelphia Eagles with alums Join Sports and Society for a special Huddle Double Feature, as we welcome home to Ohio State Eric Oberman, executive director of the Atlanta Tipoff Club and administrator of the Naismith Awards, and Gabriella DiGiovanni, a television personality with the Philadelphia Eagles.   The Naismith College Player of the Year is an annual basketball award given by the Atlanta Tipoff Club to the top men's and women's collegiate basketball players. It is named in honor of the inventor of basketball, Dr. James Naismith.   Oberman will talk through the history of the award, how winners are selected, and stories behind some of the most famous winners.   DiGiovanni will discuss her path from the journalism program to the NFL, how to prepare for a team media role, and thoughts on the 2020 NFL Draft.   The event will be held via Zoom with DiGiovanni appearing 3:30-4 p.m., and Oldman appearing 4-5 p.m. Pre-registration is required.   After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
