Drawing from his 2026 book, Boykoff will examine sportswashing surrounding the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the political and economic power of FIFA and what these issues may signal as Los Angeles prepares to host the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The conversation will explore how international sporting events can be used to shape public perception, obscure political and human-rights concerns and generate profits for powerful sports organizations.
